Even without the added complications provided by the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002, tightening rules on disclosure of financial information, rankings for the interactive marketplace are greatly complicated by the disparity between different companies and the wide variety of services they offer. Digital media buying, pure design-and-build creative, search engine marketing or digital consultancy all fall under the umbrella of "interactive services", and most companies do a little bit of each of those in varying degrees, making comparisons difficult.
