BlackBerry / Research In Motion (Canada)

BlackBerry has established itself as the preferred mobile communications device for business users. A key factor in the brand's surging fortunes has been the extraordinary addictiveness of a business tool which allows its users to remain in constant contact with both work colleagues and social contacts at any time and in any place. Many owners find it hard ever to turn their BlackBerrys off, a fact that has earned the device the nickname " CrackBerry". The product entered Interbrand's annual ranking of the world's 100 Best Global Brands for the first time in 2008. BlackBerry's manufacturer, the independent Canadian company Research In Motion (RIM), has set the standard for mobile corporate communications since 1999, and he introduction of ever-faster mobile connections has caused revenues to soar since 2005. Now, however, rivals such as Apple and Nokia are keen to seize RIM's crown, developing their own more sophisticated handsets. BlackBerry aims to maintain its independence by broadening its footprint into the high-end consumer market. Click here to find out more (subscribers only); or subscribe to Adbrands.net here.
