Springer & Jacoby
(Germany)

Springer
& Jacoby is a creative agency, headquartered in Germany but
operating a small network stretching across several other European
markets. It has for the most part regained its stability after several
years of management turmoil. In 2000, the agency's founders agreed to sell a minority
shareholding to US group True North, later acquired by Interpublic.
However that relationship became increasingly strained, especially after S&J's
flagship
client Mercedes began steps in 2005 to find a new agency. At the
end of the year, S&J looked set to regain its independence by agreeing a merger
with former subsidiary Elephant7. Yet that deal collapsed in 2006 after Mercedes
confirmed plans to move its account. Eventually S&J was acquired by
investment group Avantaxx. Click here to access the Adbrands profile (subscribers only); or subscribe to Adbrands.net here.
