Grupo Prisa (Spain)

Grupo
Prisa is the dominant mediaowner in
Spain with broad interests across all print media, cable and terrestrial
broadcasting and radio. The company has steadily strengthened its domestic
portfolio to stay ahead of competitors, and its move into international markets,
mainly in Latin America,
has been similarly cautious but methodical. Prisa's best known brand is
El Pais,
Spain's best-selling quality newspaper, and a long-established champion of civil
liberties, founded in 1976, six months after the death of Spanish dictator
General Franco, as the country struggled towards democracy. Currently, it also controls the company's
leading pay TV network, Digital+. Click
here for an Adbrands Profile of Grupo
Prisa (subscribers only). Adbrands Company Profiles provide a detailed
analysis of the history and current operations of leading advertisers, agencies
and brands worldwide, and include a critical summary which identifies key
strengths and weaknesses. Adbrands Account Assignments tracks account management
for the world's leading brands and companies, including details of which
