Digitas
is a leading global digital agency network, now part of Publicis
Groupe. It began life as a direct marketing specialist, but moved
heavily into the interactive sector in the late 1990s. Still independent by the
early 2000s, it extended its size and range of services in 2004 with the acquisition of
another leading digital design agency Modem.Media.
At the end of 2006, Publicis
made an agreed bid to acquire the business for $1.3bn, and the Digitas
network has continued to expand since then with the bolt-on of a series of
offices in other key markets such as the UK, France and China. Prior to
its purchase by
Publicis, Advertising Age ranked Digitas as the #13 ad organisation worldwide in
