InterActiveCorp (US)

For the time time being IAC (or InterActive Corporation) is one of the the world's biggest interactive groups, the corporate umbrella for a number of well-known brands operating via cable television or the internet, including the Home Shopping Network (HSN), global ticket agency Ticketmaster, dating service Match.com, Lending Tree, and search engine Ask.com. In 2007, however, IAC announced plans to break itself up into five separate companies, continuing a process which began in 2005 when it spun off its collection of travel-related businesses into a standalone unit, Expedia Inc. Despite a legal challenge from shareholder John Malone, that break-up is now expected to go ahead during 2008. The group is the brainchild of skilled dealmaker and media mogul Barry Diller.
