Eastman Kodak (US)

Kodak is almost certainly the best-known name in the photographic industry, but the company has struggled with the changing nature of the business. In its core sector of photographic film, market share has been chopped away by Japanese rival Fuji Film, now the #1 supplier in the US. Digital imaging dispensed with film altogether, and introduced new competitors such as electronics giant Sony and even mobile handset manufacturers led by Nokia. Kodak finally began to regain its edge during 2004 after a long and painful restructuring, but it remains an uphill battle.
