Sony Pictures Entertainment (US)

Sony Pictures Entertainment is the US-based film, television and video arm of Sony Corporation. Founded in 1989, the business was initially an expensive mistake for the Japanese electronics company, but finally began to hit its stride in the late 1990s. The group is centred around the Columbia Pictures and Sony Pictures film studios, and Columbia Tristar Television. In 2004, it agreed to acquire legendary studio MGM for around $4.9bn. That deal creates the world's biggest movie library, representing almost half of all colour films ever made. Click here to find out more; or subscribe to Adbrands.net here.
