Verizon Communications (US)

Verizon
Communications is one of the two leading national US telecoms businesses.
It was formed in 2000 from the merger of Bell
Atlantic and GTE Corporation, and strengthened its
position further in 2005 with the acquisition of long-distance operator MCI.
However, after five years as America's #1, Verizon's
lead in this fast-consolidating sector was overturned by the new AT&T.
The group offers a full range of communications services. One key
component of the business is Verizon Wireless, effectively a joint venture with UK mobile giant
Vodafone. Click here
